Manna is a much loved, delightfully rustic, 19th Century 4 Bedroom Farmhouse which sleeps up to 8 guests and has been sympathetically restored to retain many of its original features in harmony with it's surroundings. Set among 5 acres of Mediterranean pine trees and olive groves, this pale cream house with green shutters is one of Syros’ hidden treasures. Only a 10 minute drive to the delightfully elegant town of Ermopouli (or a sandy beach), with its treasure trove of antique furniture, original tiled floors, thick stone walls and hidden courtyards, this is the perfect retreat.  The newly extended terrace with dining table and comfy chairs is where you will spend much of your time - just enjoying the ambience and the views across the gardens.

Entering from the garden, you walk into a pretty courtyard with sun loungers, sofa and snuggly armchairs. A large parasol gives shade in the summer months. French windows lead into the dining room with original tiled floor, sea grass carpet, 2 large dressers (full of local pottery), antique settle and dining table with seating for 8. Copper bowls decorate the walls.

Our bijou kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven and dishwasher and all the delightful bedrooms are air conditioned – crisp white bed linen contrasts with the carefully chosen antique furniture. The snug with original tiled floors, antique kilim and comfortable sofa and armchairs is the hub of the house. The second reception room with local memorabilia and bookshelves crammed with books leads onto the courtyard.  Bedroom One is in the main house whereas bedrooms Two, Three and Four are just across the courtyard.  The charming bedrooms each have their own bathrooms – one even houses the original bread oven! This is a home where linens are fresh and colours are serene

The private and secluded gardens extend over 5 acres with pine, olive and lemon trees.   The larger courtyard with oleander bushes and bamboo ceiling has a huge marble dining table for al-fresco dining with views across the gardens. There are other seating areas hidden among the gardens where you can snooze with a book.  The plunge pool nestles among the Mediterranean pines which provide shade in the summer.  Being waist high, the pool is perfect for a dip in the afternoon having spent the day at the beach or exploring the area.
